Practice Profile

Sally qualified for the Bar at 40 years of age. Prior to doing so, Sally spent nineteen years working with people: she taught cookery at the Cordon Bleu in London; interviewed children for the ITV and BBC Audience Research Board; taught English as a Foreign Language to visitors to the University of Cambridge; worked as an administrator: for the University of Cambridge, for Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge and King's College, Cambridge.

 

Sally's practice covers all issues arising from separation and divorce, including injunctive relief; private law; children act applications; ancillary relief in mediation and in collaborative law.

 

Sally believes that even litigation and mediation, whether undertaken together or apart, do not necessarily provide the best result for clients. Collaborative Law offers an alternative and increasingly popular approach to resolving issues arising out of separation and divorce.

 

Sally was one of the first barristers to train as a collaborative lawyer.

 

Sally has successfully completed the LSC mediation portfolio. Sally has an active mediation practice, including her role as a Professional Practice Consultant (PPC), which involves supervising other mediators.

1997: Accredited mediator in Family Law with FMA/ADR and the LSC, practising sole, co and anchor mediation.

2003: Professional Practice Consultant for the FMA/ADR, Resolution and the LSC.

2004: Trained Civil Mediator.

2004: Trained Collaborative Lawyer.

French: From the age of twelve Sally was brought up in France, but educated in England. Sally has good conversational French.
